The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Eli and I had a special day yesterday. I took him to our local performing arts center to see The Very Hungry Caterpillar and other Eric Carle Favourites. He loved it and was absolutely mesmerized! For an active 3 year old like Eli to sit stone still for an hour was a testament to the quality of the production. I highly recommend it to anyone that has a toddler in their life! The stage pictures were taken after the play. The Christmas tree was in the lobby- we had to kill time before the show.

Wagon Ride

I took the boys out for a ride- trying to enjoy the last few warm days. Eli wanted to pull Jacob; his expression "at the helm" is a little scary. He was actually very good about holding Jacob while I was pulling. And, if you'll look closely at the shadow, you can tell it's Eli that snapped the pic of me and Jacob.

Wedding in October

I'm finally getting around to posting some pictures from Aunt Amanda's wedding in late October. Our dearest friends, Jamie and Jamie, had to get the boys dressed and ready for us, since Aaron and I were in the wedding party. Note the smug expression from Eli on the pulpit. Look out Spurgeon!

Halloween

I surveyed the households we visited while Trick-or-Treating, and only about 3% knew Eli's character. I quickly realized that having their own toddler was a prerequisite for knowing that Eli was "Leo" from Disney's Little Einsteins. And wasn't Jacob quite the jovial duckling???

Visit from Grammy and G.G.

My mom and G.G. (Great Grandma Katie) came to visit us over the Halloween weekend. A fun time was had by all! G.G. couldn't get over how happy Jacob seemed (he really is), and I love the adoring look on Eli's face directed at Grammy. The camera doesn't lie.

One of those rare moments

For anyone who is like me and hasn't invested in a SLR digital camera, you can feel my pain when it comes to the many frustrations associated with that pesky delay when taking pictures. But, every now and then you get a good shot. One that isn't blurry, red-eyed, or post-smile. I had one of these moments up in Indiana. Here's my sweet Jacob. I'm thinking the the world of non-SLR digital cameras is similar to the "Shadowlands" that C.S. Lewis referred to when talking about life here as opposed to heaven. Down here we'll occasionally get a glimpse of what heaven will be like (such as a beautiful sunrise or unselfish acts of kindness), but then the clouds come and shadows fall obscuring that view. You gotta love outdated technology.
